Overview: 
About the Apprenticeship: 
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Software Development Apprentice to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in software development while completing a Level 3 Software Development Technician apprenticeship, delivered by QA, one of the UK's leading training providers.

As a Software Development Apprentice, you will work alongside our experienced team on exciting projects, gaining valuable skills in both backend and frontend development. 
You will have the opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills in frameworks like Django (Python) or Angular (JavaScript/TypeScript) while contributing to real-world software solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design, development, and maintenance of software applications using Django and/or Angular.
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code under the guidance of senior developers.
  • Collaborate with team members to understand project requirements and deliver high-quality software solutions.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure the reliability and performance of applications.
  • Learn and apply best practices in software development, including Agile methodologies and version control using Git.
  • Contribute to the creation of user interfaces and web services, ensuring a seamless user experience.
  • Continuously improve your skills and knowledge through on-the-job training and structured learning sessions provided by QA.

What we’re looking for:
Desired skills and qualities: 

  • A passion for technology and a keen interest in software development.
  • Basic experience or understanding of either Django (Python) or Angular (JavaScript/TypeScript). However, a willingness to learn is essential.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to think logically.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • An eagerness to learn and develop new skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Good time management and organizational skills.

Experience:
Familiarity with coding and programming fundamentals (e.g., Django , Angular ) is desirable.

Entry Requirements:
7 GCSE's total: 

  • English GCSE grade D or above
  • Other 6 GCSE's, including Maths, to be C or above
  • You must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level than this apprenticeship in a similar subject

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.
