Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship Team Leader/Supervisor (CMI)

This Team Leader/Supervisor Apprenticeship is accredited by the Chartered Management Institute.

Learn on the job, and apply your new skills to your existing role to become a team leader or supervisor. This qualification is suitable for you if you are just starting your career or if you are currently working in a managerial role and want to develop further practical experience.

This flexible apprenticeship is delivered in partnership with Mindful Education, and combines online learning with face-to-face lessons in the classroom.

Study Aims

This qualification is aimed at practicing or aspiring managers and covers a wide range of business management skills and knowledge, including organisational performance, interpersonal skills and personal effectiveness.

This CMI course will provide you with the skills and knowledge required to be a manager, as well as the ability to apply your learning in the context of another organisation or industry sector.

This programme may lead to Membership of CMI (MCMI).

The qualification can be funded through an apprenticeship and the fee is dependent on whether your employer pays the levy or not.

  • Managing a Team to Achieve Results
  • Stakeholder Relationships
  • Contributing to the Delivery of a Project
  • Managing Daily Activities
  • Managing Budgets and Resources
  • Managing Data and Information
  • Personal and Professional Development.

Teaching and Assessment

This apprenticeship programme is delivered via blended learning in partnership with Mindful Education. You will attend a face-to-face session on site at New College Durham every other week and engage in online learning via the Mindful Education platform.

Each session includes taught theory and seminar activities. The sessions are inclusive and develop your knowledge and practice of being a manager.Sessions are interactive so you can apply the theory into practice. Each unit has an assessment which has been designed by CMI.

As part of the apprenticeship, you are required to complete 20% off the job training and you will work with you own individual apprenticeship skills coordinator to plan this.

End Point Assessment

The final assessment for the qualification is an End Point Assessment (EPA) which must be passed to achieve the full qualification.

Entry Criteria

Individual employers will set the selection criteria for their apprentices though most will be expected to hold five GCSEs at grade 5 (C) or higher.

You will hold Level 2 English and maths and ideally you will also be working in a relevant management and/or team leader role.
