About Faculty of Advocates:

The Scottish Bar is one of Scotland’s most ancient and prestigious institutions with a membership of about 460 practising Advocates. Most advocates are supported in their professional practices by Practice Managers/Advocates’ Clerks employed by Faculty Services Limited.

Faculty of Advocates are looking for a Business Administration Apprentice to join their team based in Edinburgh to help their Training and Education Department.

Responsibilities: 

  • Administer and take responsibility for incoming mail and document processing, including postal mail, fee processing batches, and invoices
  • Combine, split or rearranging of digital papers for Advocates
  • Distribution of Advocates' incoming and outgoing mail with accuracy
  • Arranging courier services for Advocates and Clerks
  • Provide additional secretarial support to clerks within the Stables
  • Cover reception duties in the Advocates Clerks' office
  • Monitoring of Criminal Justice Secure Email and distribution of court minutes to Clerks
  • Maintain printer hardware within Clerking area and report issues to Xerox/service desk when appropriate

What do you need to succeed?

An interest in administration.

Salary: £13,741 - £18,200 per annum (depending on age).

Working week: Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm.
