Overview:

In this role, you'll play a key part in supporting the People Team Data function as we work together to expand the scope and improve the capabilities of people data reporting. You'll be helping us move towards a systems-first approach for managing people data. Reporting to the People Data & Analytics Manager, this position is on a fixed-term contract, specifically covering the duration of the apprenticeship.

The successful candidate will be working towards a Data Analyst Level 4 apprenticeship. The role will require 20% of working hours to be spent gaining skills and knowledge towards achieving the Level 4 Data Apprenticeship Standard. This will typically include attending workshops, online learning, webinars, coaching or shadowing. The remaining 80% of working hours will be spent delivering the key accountabilities outlined below.

Responsibilities:

  • To assist in collating, analysing and visualising People data producing a range of reports to facilitate the business in making data-led decisions.
  • Consult with departments on the required data and measures to facilitate data-led decision making.
  • Author and implement data documentation to articulate report functions, data sources intended use and audiences.
  • Support in the development and creation of data warehouse objects to further data analysis opportunities within the people team.
  • Support the People team in leveraging their data to improve insights and measurement of activities, including undertaking ad hoc reports.
  • Work closely with the People Systems Team to maximise opportunities to exploit existing system functionality and enhance data analysis activities.
  • Support in verifying data accuracy and completeness, making sure that all required information is consistently captured and recorded.
  • Maintain and update systems to accurately track and record project progress, ensuring all developments are consistently documented.
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with data protection and that data security is considered at every stage of its processing.
  • Supporting the Data Team to ensure the business is kept up to date on ongoing data initiatives within the people team.

We’re looking for candidates who: 

  • Numeracy, literacy, and word processing skills that help us communicate and solve problems effectively.
  • Candidates should be friendly, approachable communicator (written and verbal), able to work with people across all areas of the business.
  • Experience working with Office 365 packages like Excel to efficiently handle data.
  • Have a good awareness of data security, data protection regulations, and are confident when preparing and handling sensitive information.
  • Experience and interest in problem solving and analysing data.

Entry requirements:

Standard entry:

  • Level 3 qualification (apprenticeship/A-levels/BTEC, etc)
  • OR equivalent work experience (typically two years in a relevant role)

Plus:

  • 5 GCSEs, including English and Maths at Grade 4 (C) or above 
  • Experience with using Excel and Microsoft products (or similar)

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance, you could still be considered for the programme.

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application, you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.
