Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship Construction Support Technician

This apprenticeship programme aims to provide you with the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to pursue a career in Construction and the Built Environment.

You will attend college on a day-release basis to study modules such as construction principles, design, technology, and management, whilst also being employed and working as an apprentice in the construction industry.

Study Aims

This apprenticeship aims to prepare you with the skills and knowledge needed to meet the demands of employers in the construction sector. You will work alongside professionals, and learn how to adapt to an ever-changing world.

Modules Studied

You will study the following mandatory units:

• Construction Principles
• Construction Design
• Construction Technology
• Health and Safety in Construction
• Surveying in Construction
• Graphical Detailing in Construction
• Building Regulations and Control in Construction

And the following optional units:

• Management of a Construction Project
• Site Engineering for Construction
• The Housing Industry

Modules are subject change.

You will also be assessed on the knowledge, skills and behaviours set out in the apprenticeship standard. You will develop a portfolio that demonstrates and provides evidence to support your learning.

Tuesday-Thursday 9am-7pm

End Point Assessment

The final assessment to complete your apprenticeship qualification is an End Point Assessment (EPA) which must be passed to achieve the full qualification.

Placement

You will be expected to work within the industry and will attend college on a day release basis.

Entry Criteria

The minimum academic entry criteria to the course are:

• At least five GCSEs at grade 9-4 (A*-C)
• Or a related BTEC qualification at Level 2.

In addition to the above, you will be required to have maths and English Language qualifications at a minimum of Level 2 before commencement of the course.
