HNC Construction & The Built Environment (Part-time)

Overview

This programme will provide you with the advanced knowledge and skills to pursue a career in construction. 

You will apply critical reasoning and analysis techniques to solve construction problems, and develop your personal and business skills to prepare you for the demands of a professional construction environment. 

You will study modules that focus on areas such as construction technology, science and materials, drawing, detailing and specification, surveying, measuring and legal responsibilities.

The aim of this programme is to help learners develop the practical and theoretical skills required for further study, or employment within the construction industry.

Year 1: 

  • Construction Technology
  • Science and Materials
  • Construction Information (Drawing, Detailing and Specification)
  • Building Information Modelling.

Year 2: 

  • Individual Project
  • Construction Practice & Management
  • Legal & Statutory Responsibilities in Construction
  • Surveying, Measuring and Setting Out.

Delivery

Wednesday: 9am-5.30pm

Entry Criteria

UCAS tariff points: 120

  • A relevant BTEC Level 3 qualification in Construction or Civil Engineering
  • Two relevant A-Levels
  • An Access to Higher Education Certificate.
