Vacancy Description:
Northumbria Healthcare’s Digital Services team provide all of the technology and technical development to assist in the current electronic systems and the development and delivery of the drive to be paper free at the point of care. The role of the IT support officer is to support existing PC equipment and software application along with the deployment of new equipment and software.
Main duties for this role include:
To assist in providing support for all PC equipment, software and mobile devices throughout the Trust including installation of PC hardware, software and peripheral devices.
Investigate routine enquiries, queries from staff providing assistance & advice as required.
To order, install, and configure new IT desktop equipment and Mobile devices
To manage and maintain asset database and documentation as appropriate to the role.
To ensure new equipment is installed and configured in a timely manner and in line with Trust standards and service levels.
To troubleshoot and resolve basic Service Desk support calls in a timely manner and in line with Trust standards and service levels.
To work within the Trust IM&T Security Policy at all times and ensure all systems supported comply with this.
To update systems as appropriate to track the lifetime of IT assets within the Trust
Desirable Skills:
Demonstrable knowledge of desktop & Mobile equipment, including: PCs, Laptops, Printers, iPods / iPads / iPhones and Android devices
A good knowledge of Windows-based operating systems, Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office suites.
A good knowledge of Windows-based operating systems, Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office suites, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve basic IT incidents
Personal Qualities:
Team player
Good communicator
Ability to respond positively to supervisor feedback
Desired Qualifications:
5 A-C GCSE qualifications, including Mathematics and English
ECDL, BTEC, NVQ or equivalent qualification or knowledge in IT
Entry Requirements:
3 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject
GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)
Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship is in a similar subject
You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.
If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.
