AI Engineer Apprentice

Employer description:

Envera Group is one of the fastest growing UK-based technology partners, helping ambitious businesses connect, automate, and grow – without the overwhelm and complexity. We bring together technology, connect systems, streamline workflows, and implement automation where it actually makes a difference – all powered by our own tools, backed by real human support, and designed to help you run businesses with confidence.

Overview:
At Envera, we’re not just implementing AI solutions, we’re architecting the intelligent systems that will define how UK businesses operate in the next decade. As our AI Apprentice, you’ll be part of designing this future, not just learning about it.

You’ll become part of our transformation engine, helping design, test, and implement automation solutions that solve real business problems. You’ll learn how to use AI not as a novelty, but as a tool for clarity, control, and intelligent systems design.

Working alongside our AI developers, engineers, and project leads, you’ll help architect the future of SME operations across the UK, using tools like OpenAI, ChatGPT, Claude, Botpress, Zapier, and more. You’ll also contribute internally, improving our own operational efficiency through intelligent automation. Your work will directly impact hundreds of UK small businesses, helping them compete more effectively through intelligent automation. This is a role for someone with a mind for logic and a drive for purpose, someone who wants to build powerful systems, not just learn them.

Responsibilities:

AI & automation deployment for clients:

  • Assist in the design and deployment of AI-driven solutions for UK-based SMEs.
  • Translate business workflows into structured, efficient automation systems.
  • Use LLMs and no-code tools to deliver solutions that streamline operations, reduce manual workload, and increase speed.
  • Independently analyse business workflows and design automation solutions, with guidance available when needed.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize AI and automation implementations to improve performance.

Internal AI & automation management:

  • Maintain and improve Envera’s internal AI tools, bots, and automation pipelines.
  • Automate repetitive tasks across departments (CRM workflows, reporting, comms).
  • Collaborate with team members to identify internal inefficiencies and propose smart, scalable fixes.

Desirable skills:

  • Communicate clearly, even when working on complex challenges.
  • Be energised by both learning and applying your skills - you want theory and real-world momentum.
  • Strategic by nature, you instinctively look for patterns, systems, and long-term solutions, not just quick fixes.
  • Future-focused mindset, you think in systems and long-term outcomes.
  • Natural problem-solver who enjoys translating complex challenges into elegant solutions.
  • Adaptable and grounded, you’re open to change, grounded under pressure, and capable of balancing speed with accuracy.
  • Strong interest in AI, automation, and emerging tech.
  • Comfortable using tools like ChatGPT, Zapier, Notion, or learning new platforms.
  • Bonus: Any experience with Python, data tools, or workflow mapping (even in personal projects).

Entry requirements:

Acceptable qualifications include any of:

  • Two A-levels in one or more similar subject plus B in A-Level maths.
  • Two A-levels in one or more similar subject plus 2-years work experience in tech.
  • Level 4 or 5 apprenticeship in a similar technical subject.**
  • International Baccalaureate at Level 3 in a similar subject.
  • 3+ years in a similar subject-related role.
  • A first degree in a numerate discipline (but excluding Computer Science as not fundable).

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.
