“My grandad worked in logistics for Safeway and then Morrisons, so when I saw the logistics degree apprenticeship, I decided to follow in his footsteps. I didn’t really know what I was getting myself into, but it’s been better than I expected.
During the first six months, I worked on a variety of placements in the warehouse. I got to know everyone and work everywhere on site from fresh, ambient and frozen to transport and recycling. Then I chose a six-month placement in ambient because of all the tech they use.
I’m now a team manager, proud to lead my own team of 21 people. As well my work I’m studying a business management degree. Every week I have half a day to do my uni work. Thanks to all the support, I’ve found balancing my work and studies really manageable.”
