  About

Everyone has potential. At COPA, we’ll help you to reach your peak potential and achieve your career and learning goals.

That’s because we’re COPA, and COPA is Welsh for peak or summit.  We like to think our name sums up what we do each and every day.

We find out what’s important to you and help your potential to grow.  Perhaps you know where you’d like your future to take you – or maybe you don’t know what to do next.  Either way, that doesn’t matter to us; we want to know what you’re interested in and what you’re passionate about. Whatever that may be, we’re here to help you to pursue your career and learning goals.

Whether you're a school leaver, a student looking to start your career or have years of experience, we’ll help you to grow and develop your skills.  We work across England and Wales, and love to help people to develop their careers.

How can the team at COPA help you to achieve YOUR peak potential?

Are you 16-18 and looking to take your first steps into your future career?  Do you live in Wales?

Is this you?  Read on.

At COPA we run a programme which could be for you.  JGW+ is designed to help you get job ready. You’ll get support tailored to help you reach your full potential. We’ll help you to find a suitable work placement, which will allow you to progress into your chosen career and could lead to an Apprenticeship!  And, you’ll earn while you learn.

On each of the JGW+ courses, you’ll have access to mentoring, advice, training, work tasters, placements and job opportunities:

  • Work skills: This is for you if you’re struggling to decide on a career path. We’ll help you to understand your options and support you in overcoming barriers to employment.
  • Sports: This is for you if you’d like to turn your love of sport into a career. We’ll help you find work experience - and gain a relevant qualification.
  • Public Services: This is for anyone who sees a future in the Emergency Services. We’ll help you get ready for applying to join the emergency services. You’ll work on your fitness and gain qualifications.
  • Military Training: Interested in joining the military?  This course is for you.  You’ll get a head start on the military application process. We work closely with members of the military to give you the best possible start to a career in the military.

Do you want to work in the sport & leisure sector?  Or are you a sport & fitness professional looking to gain new skills?

Whether you're a school leaver, a student looking to start your career or have years of experience, we can help you boost your potential.  From apprenticeships to short courses and continuing professional development, we’ve something for you.  Come to us for high-quality training in leisure, fitness and management.

We work with loads of leading companies in the leisure sector.  Our tutors are passionate about sport and fitness.  They’re here to help you to explore your goals and to reach your potential.

With our active leisure apprenticeships, you’ll develop the skills and knowledge you need for a successful career in the sector.  If you live in Wales, our apprenticeships include Instructing Exercise and Fitness, Leisure Management and Personal Training.  For those of you in England, apprenticeships on offer include Leisure Team Member, Leisure Duty Manager and Management.

If you’re already working in the sector, do you want to add new classes to your timetable?  Make the most of our short courses and CPD opportunities including yoga, kettlebells, studio cycling and emergency first-aid!  We’re always looking for new ways to help you to develop your skills so new courses are being introduced all the time.

COPA is the trading name of North Wales Training.  From our head office in Llandudno, we’re proud to support learners and employers across Wales and England to explore their learning and careers goals.
