The Manufacturing Business Degree Apprenticeship is structured around a programme of placements that will see you move around the business over a 3.5 year period designed to give you as much experience of and exposure to an international business environment as possible. This will help you identify areas that interest/excite you and also give you a wider understanding of how a global business operates.
For the first two years you will rotate through placements working within our Integrated Project Teams, you will gain the skills and knowledge to deliver complex projects, utilising strong internal and external customer facing skills to support project execution and delivery within the Electronics line of business. These placements include Material Control, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing Project Management, Finance, Operations Planning, Commercial and Procurement before going into your final placement within the Material Control team.
Within the Material Control department, you will continue learning and building on the aforementioned experience. This involves being within close proximity of the production facilities and hardware on a daily basis, and being part of a collaborative team working towards optimal turnaround times agreed with customers. You will also attend university on a day release basis to complete your Chartered Manager Apprenticeship (ST0272) which includes a BA (Hons) Business and Management degree. Through your work placements you will record learning activities and evidence to show your competency in set criteria and in your final placement you will complete a project which forms part of your degree.
During your apprenticeship, you will:
Grow your knowledge of an engineering business and what the roles of our business support colleagues are by being part of our Integrated Project Teams.
Utilise industry wide approved software, including SAP and Microsoft Office applications.
Work on innovative and exciting projects within IPT (integrated project teams).
Contribute to continuous improvement across the business.
Review, release and manage internal Production orders in line with the Production Plan/Schedule.
Expedite work through the Production areas on a daily basis. This includes the retrieval and delivery of hardware/kits.
Advise relevant internal Stakeholders of any delays likely to impact achievement of the internal forecast date to the customer.
Co-ordinate & liaise with all cross-functional teams.
Support early careers activities - our apprentices have the opportunity to work as STEM ambassadors in schools, colleges and universities.

You must have (as a minimum) the following qualifications:
104 UCAS Points from A'Level or BTEC Extended Diploma in Business Related Subjects plus 5 GCSE grades 4 - 9 or grades A*- C or equivalent, to include Maths and English
The starting salary for this role is £21,525
