DentArtWork Dental Care is a well-regarded, community-focused dental practice offering exceptional care to patients of all ages. We are now looking for a committed and caring individual to join our team as a Level 3 Dental Nurse Apprentice.

Job Title: Dental Nurse Apprentice (Level 3)
Location: DentArtWork Dental Care, 3 Oak Street, Lechlade, GL7 3AX

Hours:

Approximately 20–24 hours per week

Wednesday: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm (occasionally until 7:00 pm, once per month)

Friday: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm

Saturday: One Saturday per month (with flexibility to do additional hours on Tuesday/Thursday, typically 10:00 am – 2:00 pm as required)

Salary:

£7.55 per hour (apprentice wage)

This role offers a great opportunity to learn on the job while working towards a nationally recognised qualification in dental nursing through Aspiration Training. You'll gain valuable clinical experience in a supportive, patient-centred environment.

Key Responsibilities

Assist the dental team during clinical procedures

Prepare the surgery and equipment ahead of appointments

Maintain strict infection control standards and cleanliness

Support patients throughout their treatment journey

Keep accurate, confidential patient records

Occasionally help with reception or admin duties as needed

Training and Development
You will work towards a Level 3 Dental Nurse apprenticeship, with full support from Aspiration Training. The programme combines practical training in the workplace with study, giving you the foundation for a successful dental nursing career.

Entry requirements

Maths and English GCSE at Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent) are essential.

Training to be provided

The apprenticeship provides employment and training within a dental practice to study the Level 3 dental nurse apprenticeship.  The apprenticeship is designed to teach the knowledge, skills and behaviours necessary to ensure competency in all aspects of clinical duties including: -

Preparing for Professional Practice in Dental Nursing

Infection Prevention and Control

First Aid and Medical Emergencies

Oral and General Health

Endodontic Treatments

Prosthetic Treatments

Radiation and Radiography

Periodontal Disease and Cavity Restoration

Health and Safety

Extractions and Minor Oral Surgery

Management of Oral Health Diseases and Dental Anatomy, Oral Health Assessments and Treatment Planning

Upon successful completion you will awarded the relevant qualification to apply for professional registration as a dental nurse to the General Dental Council (GDC).

Things to consider

A passion and desire to work within the dental sector is essential and to not be put off at the sight of blood. If you using public transport to get to the practice, please ensure you have researched the route and that a regular service is available. It is also a requirement to have a course of Hepatitis B vaccines and a clear enhanced DBS.

This is a great opportunity to be trained and secure long-term employment. Once qualified, there are a number of routes for further training and development, including dental hygienist, dental therapist or dental cosmetics.
