Study Aims
This early years educator apprenticeship programme is perfect for those working with 5-7-year olds.
You will carry out a variety of support activities with the teachers in schools, planning and preparing for lessons.
Modules Studied
The qualification has structured units around the following three themes:
Teaching and Assessment
You will be expected to complete written assignments for each unit, as well as reflective accounts and professional discussions, and be observed in the workplace by an Apprenticeship Skills Coordinator.
Once you have completed the diploma, along with the certificates for maths and English, you will enter Gateway for End Point Assessment (EPA).
This will be an observation in the workplace, carried out by an independent assessor from the awarding organisation, and then a professional discussion around a portfolio of evidence.
To complete the apprenticeship, you must achieve a pass in all components of the EPA.
End Point Assessment
The final assessment for the qualification is an End Point Assessment (EPA) which must be passed to achieve the full qualification.
Placement
You must secure employment in a school setting to be able to start on this apprenticeship.
What are the next steps?
You will have an interview with the Apprenticeship team.
As part of your interview you will carry out an English and Maths assessment which will help us assess your suitability for the course.
