Join our dynamic IT Support & Operations team within Group IT department at GBG, a crucial part of our global technology function. Our mission is to ensure that GBG delivers an exceptional experience to our team members worldwide. As a Tier 1 Support Apprentice, you will be at the forefront of all aspects of Group IT, empowering our colleagues with the essential tools they need to achieve success every day.

With the support of the of the wider team we will train you to successfully deliver:

  • Provide first-line technical support to team members, resolving issues related to hardware, software, and network connectivity.
  • Assist with the setup and configuration of IT equipment, ensuring that new and existing team members have the necessary tools to perform their roles effectively.
  • Monitor and respond to support tickets in a timely manner, escalating complex issues to higher-level support when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of support activities and solutions provided.
  • Ensure that all IT services and equipment meet quality, performance, and cost standards.

Desirable Skills & Personal Qualities:

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to provide clear, concise instructions to non-technical team members.
  • Basic knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networking principles.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to providing outstanding support experiences.

Technical Skills:

These are the skills we will expect and support you in developing a solid grounding - macOS, Active Directory  & Entra ID, Exchange / M365 Administration, M365 Application for Mac & Windows, Windows 10/11, InTune/Jamf, File/Print, Teams Meeting Room equipment, Jira, Endpoint Security

Entry Requirements:
  • 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)
  • Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship is in a similar subject
You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.
 
If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.
