Apprentice rates from the 1st April will be £8 then £9 after competency check which takes 12 weeks. For those over 19 will move to minimum wage for their age after the first year.

As an apprentice, you’ll work and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
- What you’ll do at work
- Under supervision, keep records of children’s development and learning journeys
- Liaise professionally with and support parents and other family members
- Be able to work well in a team
- Attend out of working hours activities, e.g. training, monthly staff meetings, parent's evenings, fundraising events, etc.
- To ensure high standards in all aspects of care and development in line with the EYFS for all children attending the nursery
- To organise resources for activities and experiences in the nursery
- To assist in enhancing the developmental progress of children
- To implement the daily routine within the nursery
- To maintain a high standard of cleanliness and good housekeeping
- To maintain a thorough knowledge of all the nursery’s policies and procedures; ensuring that they are followed and respected
Entry requirements
Good Maths- A-C (9-4) Grades in maths or equivalent is desired but not essential
Good English - A-C (9-4) Grades in English or equivalent is desired but not essential
Early years level 2 is desired but not essential
Training to be provided
Level 3 Early Years Educator apprenticeship standard, which includes:
Level 3 Early Years Educator Diploma
End-Point Assessment (EPA)
