Business Administration Apprenticeship Level 3

About the FCA:

From regulating Consumer Credit to driving action on Foreign Exchange manipulation or helping strengthen accountability in the banking sector, the FCA is working with the industry to protect consumers, ensure the integrity of the UK financial system and promote fair and effective competition. Our remit has expanded significantly since our creation in 2013, with the number of firms we regulate growing from 23,000 to nearly 45,000. We oversee conduct across the full span of the financial sector from global investment banks to high street payday lenders. We do this by working with consumer groups, trade associations and professional bodies, domestic regulators, international partners, and a wide range of other stakeholders.

 

About the role:

Business Administrators offer a crucial role in any business, covering a host of responsibilities that need to be managed efficiently and effectively. You will get on the job experience, while also completing an Apprenticeship in Business Administration. You will gain the skills, knowledge and behaviours required to start your career.

 

We hire Business Admins into a range of divisions across the business, you could join one of several areas; Operations or Supervision, Policy & Competition (SPC).

 

The key responsibilities of the role will include:

·         Effective diary and inbox management

·         Arranging meetings, taking minutes and ensuring papers are circulated on time

·         Dealing with enquiries and taking telephone messages

·         Developing good working relationships across the FCA

·         Providing key day-to-day support and assistance to the Manager

·         Playing a key role in organising and co-ordinating the team

·         Pre-empting and pro-actively following up and resolving ad-hoc issues on behalf of the team

·         Collation of team communications

·         Attending meetings, minute taking and following up agreed actions

·         Providing administrative support for ad-hoc projects and work; including away-days, meeting briefings and other support to the team as necessary.

 

Skills required:

Knowledge of Microsoft Office Packages - particularly Word, Outlook, Access Excel and PowerPoint

 

Personal qualities:

·         Excellent computer skills

·         Strong attention to detail

·         Ability to deliver outcomes to agreed standards and tight deadlines, while being flexible in response to conflicting priorities

·         Excellent organisational skills

·         Excellent oral communication skills

·         Ability to use initiative and exercise sound judgment

·         Effective interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish, develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders

·         Enthusiasm and drive to work as part of a team to get things done

Minimum qualifications required (e.g. GCSEs/A-Levels):

         Minimum of 2 A Levels or equivalent grade C or above - including one numerical subject e.g. Maths, Economics, Finance.
