This role will be based at our head office in County Durham within an established finance team.
Performance Objectives
Learn the day to day financial activities carried out within a finance team and develop and understanding of how these filter into financial reporting for internal and external stakeholders. The apprentice will support all areas of finance across several businesses within the group.
Recording and updating of daily financial information using a variety of software packages
Record and manipulate data on spreadsheets gathered from external sources
Monitor and record currency conversions
Carry out weekly payroll
Maintain staff records and issue documentation to new staff
You will also assist the MD and Senior Accounts Controller to:
Manage cash flow and monitor/chase outstanding invoice
Ensuring clean monthly cut offs and prepare monthly P&L’s
Perform bank reconciliations
Carry out journals and adjustments
Preparing of VAT returns
Supplier Payment Runs
Training & Qualifications
Time spent onsite within the finance department will provide an opportunity for practical experience which will be complemented in the classroom on day release with our training partner for a period of 15 months.
Entrance Requirements
Educated to A-level or equivalent in a related discipline
Can-do attitude and be able to demonstrate a natural skill for numeracy
