As an Air & Space Operations Specialist you will be directly involved in aviation or space support of aircrew, UK homeland defence or operations utilising modern radar, communications and IT systems.
As an Air & Space Operations Specialist you may be operating from a hardened Command and Control Centre, an Operations Room or Control Tower. You could also work in field conditions as part of a deployable unit in an Air Traffic Control tower or in a bunker. After completing 10 weeks basic training, and 5-weeks of specialist training, you will have the skills to update our IT systems with real-time flight information and operate radio equipment in support of air traffic controllers. You could also be employed in station operations, responsible for coordinating military and civilian aircraft operations and utilising your specialist flight planning knowledge to give advice to visiting aircrew on submitting their flight plans. As an Air & Space Operations Specialist, you will be a member of a highly skilled and in demand specialism as part of the next generation RAF.
You will also have the opportunity to complete a Level 3 Diploma in IT User Skills.

Requirements
Be aged 16-47
GCSE Grade C/Grade 4 or SCE Standard Grades at Grade 2/Scottish National 5 (Grade A- C) in English and Maths.
UK citizen or dual/UK holder
Health requirements: BMI and Eye sight checks
Fitness requirements: 2.4Km run, Press-ups & Sit-ups
