There are a number of roles within this specialism. We’d encourage you to be as open as possible about the different options, but do let us know on your application if you have a preferred role. We’ll do what we can to help you light your own path.  

  • Supply Chain Management Apprentice (Norwich): you’ll scratch beneath the surface of every product and process, helping the team analyse supply chain data and prepare performance reports while working in partnership with suppliers and internal stakeholders to deal with supply chain issues.  


You will study for a Level 3 Procurement and Supply Chain apprenticeship typically takes eighteen months to complete and will teach you the best practices and emerging technologies and the complex regulatory requirements to navigate. In this varied role, you’ll build strong risk, governance and commercial skills.   

  • Investments Apprentice (York): it’ll be your job to make sure prices are accurately calculated and distributed so our customers can see the true value of their investment. We’re responsible for over £150bn worth of customer investments, and the support you provide in independently validating securities and generating unit prices allow other teams to give our customers the right support. 


You’ll study for a  Level 4 Investment Operations Specialist apprenticeship which typically takes eighteen months to complete and will show you how to react to the ebbing and flowing of the financial markets in real-time. You’ll learn how to be flexible in order to meet the changing demands of each day, while always looking for ways to improve processes.

What we’re looking for 

To be considered for the Level 4 Investment apprenticeship, you must:

  • Have achieved, or be on track to achieve, at least three A Levels at grades B, C, C or above (in England), or four Highers at grades B, B, B, C or above (in Scotland), including Maths at grade B or above. Or have an equivalent Level 3 qualification.
  • Have achieved at least five GCSEs or Scottish National 5s at grades A*-C (9-4) or have equivalent qualifications. These must include English and Maths.   

And have:

  • Confidence in communicating with a range of people
  • A good analytical mind and enjoy using your problem solving skills
  • A genuine interest in financial markets, securities, or investments
  • The ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced environment where your priorities will change    

To be considered for the Level 3 Supply Chain apprenticeship, you must:

  • have achieved at least five GCSEs or Scottish National 5s at grades A*-C (9-4) or have equivalent qualifications. These must include English and Maths.  

And have:

  • confidence in communicating with a strong customer focus.
  • the desire to solve problems and seek improvements.
  • the ability to listen and collaborate, as well as challenge things with the focus on achieving more of us and our customers.
  • great analytical skills and a commitment to growth.  

To be eligible for either of these apprenticeships, you must also: 

  • have lived in the UK or European Economic Area (EEA) for at least 3 years by the start of the apprenticeship in September 2025.
  • be eligible to work full-time in the UK for the entire duration of the apprenticeship.
  • be available for full time work from September 2025 when all our apprentice roles start.

Where could you be based? 

Our Supply Chain Management apprentice opportunities are based in Norwich and the Investments Apprenticeship roles are based in York: both buzzing places in which to launch your career. You’ll need to live within commuting distance of the office where the role is based or be willing to relocate prior to start date as you’ll need to spend time with your team in person, as well as virtually, working from home. Three days in the office and two days from home (minimum 50%) is typical, but this will vary between teams.

Step two: You’ll complete online situational strengths and numerical reasoning tests

Step three: You’ll take part in a video interview

Step four: You’ll join our virtual assessment day where you’ll get to show us what you're good at and what you enjoy through a variety of exercises. 

If you’re successful, we'll offer you an apprenticeship starting in September 2025.
