Akira loves her apprentice programme with Volkswagen Passenger Cars. The Service Advisor programme was perfectly suited for her as she’s a real people person who loves interacting with customers.
Akira’s day to day duties include seeing the customers in, looking after customer’s cars and delivering feedback on the car after procedures like health checks are completed, and then giving the car back to the customer ensuring that everything is to their satisfaction.
Akira’s role within the retailer has really progressed, she started off taking bookings - learning what comes in and out of the business and what the customer’s expectations are. She is now involved in a more customer facing role where she takes customers through the processes involved and giving them in depth feedback from the technicians. She is given the freedom of working independently, which she enjoys.
She loves the team she works with. She thinks that everyone has great personalities and that there’s never a dull moment working within her retailer.
The training experience has been great. She has been getting all the support she needs and believes the National Learning Centre is a “beautiful place to learn”. You get to meet lots of people with similar interests to your own.
Akira’s advice for potential candidates is that “it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity… from start to finish its always exciting, there’s always something new happening, and once you’re finished, really good things can happen.”
