After studying an electro-technical level 2 course at Sunderland College, Samuel applied for the apprenticeship at ISS through training provider and recruiter BEST, which organised an interview for the role near where he lived.
A focus of Samuel’s work is identifying the cause of electrical faults, a challenge that appeals to his inquisitive mind.
Furthermore, the wide variety of tasks from wiring electrical systems to repairing lights and plumbing and general housekeeping ensures every day is different and always represents a new challenge.
While there is plenty of information to absorb, he cites the positive and supportive atmosphere and the good relationship with colleagues as a key element to really aiding the learning process.
