“Hello, I’m Nicole. I’ve just joined the Baxterstorey apprentice programme in Scotland as part of the RBS contract.
The last fewweeks have been a blur, but I have learned and enjoyed many things. Tasting and preparing new food – some I didn’t even know existed.
I have been practicing my knife skills and now know what different knives do, and also how not to cut myself!
I love the fact that I can learn on the job and earn a little bit of money as I go – that can’t be a bad thing? I like how I can tailor the programme to suit me and learn at my own pace.
After the placement I hope to continue working in kitchens, learning and developing my skills.”
