My enthusiasm for law began when I was about 11 years old and attended an open day at my local magistrates’ court where we learnt about the different jobs available. From that day on I wanted to have a career in law, so when the time came I chose law as one of my A Levels.
In my second A Level year I opted to study CILEx courses at my local college instead of continuing with my third A Level subject.
Over the next couple of years I combined completing my CILEx Level 3 Professional Diploma in Law and Practice with part-time work and also getting married and having a daughter. Having achieved my Diploma, I decided to take a break from studying. However my Diploma qualification meant that I secured a move to the in-house legal team at Anesco Limited, the renewable energy company that I work for.
My job involves completing Land Registry applications, searches, HMRC work, annual returns, SDLT forms, manage a RTB portfolio for more than one investor, review documents as well as drafting and amending legal documents, updating company registers.
I have now started studying for the CILEx Level 6 Professional Higher Diploma in Law and Practice, funded by my employers, who are really supportive of me and want me to do well.
CILEx Level 6 Professional Higher Diploma in Law and PracticeStudying with CILEx Law School is brilliant, I can study in my own time and I can use the forum or pick up the phone if I need any help or advice. My tutor gives comprehensive and useful feedback so I can take this on board and improve my ability to answer the questions. It’s great that the skills workshops and revision days are available too.
