Before I joined SRRT I was an emergency call assessor for West Midlands Ambulance Service. This gave me skills in customer service and the ability to work under stress while maintaining high targets.
I joined the Surge and Rapid Response team as I saw it as a great opportunity to develop skills and qualifications that I can utilise to progress my career within the Civil Service.
I love the camaraderie in Surge and the different challenges we face. I like the challenge of having to quickly train in different roles across government and responding to national crises. I have had lots of opportunities which have helped my confidence, I’m currently part of SRRT’s Brathay apprentice challenge team which involves fundraising for local charities and promoting apprenticeships.
