Always a passionate footballer, AlexAfful invested a lot of time into the sport but,at the age of 18, it didn’t help him find a job!
Like many others, Alex, now 21,applied for anything and everything at once and ended up working at Sports Direct. A year later he heard about a job fair and, hoping to find something better, went along and discovered Smart Training.
First, Alex carried out some voluntary work at to see if he enjoyed it. The tutors saw his potential and recommended him for a Business Administration Apprenticeship. “The Apprenticeship was good – it opened my eyes, taught me how to work in an office and gave me the confidence that I’ve never had before.”
After achieving his Level 3 Diploma in Business Administration, Alex moved on to a Management Apprenticeship and is nowworking towards his Level 3 Management Diploma.
