Study And Work In Interior Design

While everyone is thinking of going to university, perhaps the best route to employment is to study for a degree and work at the same time. The National Design Academy delivers online degree programmes in Interior Design validated by Staffordshire University.

That means you get exactly the same degree as if you go away to university but it means that you can study when and where you chose. If you want a few months travelling you can still work as long as you have an internet connection. If you work a few days a week you can still study in the evenings or at the weekends. Most of our students have jobs or extensive commitments which makes going to university more difficult.

You will have a named tutor who is at the end of a phone 5 days a week from 9-5 so talking to a tutor is much easier than in many universities. If you want to visit your tutor just make an arrangement or contact them by email. We provide an online Community where you can meet other students, share work and discuss any issues such as where to meet up to visit an exhibition.

Our courses are delivered through a virtual learning studio (VLS) which is easy to use and provides all your results and email contact with your tutor. It is full of resources to help you achieve. Taking a BA(Hons) with NDA gives you a choice of degrees, Interior Design, Retail Design, Heritage Interior Design and Design for Outdoor Living. We are also the only provider of an online Master Degree in Interior Design.

One of the good things about this flexible programme is that you can start at any time, so if you want to go travelling and then start later you just tell us the date you want to start. The course is eligible for support through the student loans system and you can access all the same facilities that a Staffordshire University student can – students union card, university libraries anywhere in the UK and all the advice services of the students union such as careers, finance, counselling.

Enrolling is simple, just go to the NDA website www.nda.ac.uk and complete the application form. You need to have a Level 3 qualification in an art and design related area e.g. design , art, textiles etc. Alternatively you can complete our Diploma in Interior design first to give you access to the degree courses. If you have any queries just pick up the phone and one of our advisors will be happy to talk to you.

Probably the best way to enter the jobs market in interior design is to offer your services free to a local interior designer 2 days a week, study the rest of the time and by the time you have finished your course, not only will you have the knowledge but you will have the practical work experience.

Good luck
