The Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services (England) has been developed by Skills for Care and is the new QCF replacement for the Level 4 NVQ in Leadership and Management Care Services.
Aimed at managers or senior practitioners who lead social care provision in an adult or children and young people’s setting; the course is ideal for individuals who want to take their career to the next stage.

In order to enrol on the course, potential learners should be at least 19 years old and must be working, volunteering or on practical placement and must be able to demonstrate competence in knowledge and skills, either within the public, private, voluntary or charitable sectors. Connect 2 Care also recommends that individuals wishing to study for the Health and Social Care Higher Apprenticeship hold a Level 3 qualiï¬cation or above in a related area.
