Each year, the College sends hundreds of learners to university and 2015 is no exception! Last year, more than 300 CONEL students went on to over 30 different universities, including Middlesex University, London Metropolitan University, University of Hertfordshire, London South Bank University, University of Greenwich and University of Westminster. 13 high performing students went to elite Russell Group Universities, including 6 who went to Kings College London.
Last year, 865 students successfully completed Level 3 courses, and 86 achieved Distinctions in all of their subjects. This is the equivalent to gaining straight ‘A’s at A Level. These courses are equivalent to UCAS points and get CONEL students places at university.
Courses at CONEL are designed for people who enjoy learning through practical, real-life activities and want to improve not just their qualifications, but their chances of getting a good job, either before or after university. Instead of traditional A Level courses, CONEL’s students follow Advanced BTEC or other vocational courses, which are accepted by UK universities as equivalent to A Levels.
Unlike most sixth forms, CONEL students are taught by professionals who have real experience of working in industry. In many cases work is set and assessed by employers who work closely with the College; so the content is modern and relevant. The mixture of younger and older students on CONEL’s courses means that there is a focus on maturity and responsibility right from the start.

You will already have read about CONEL’s overall success rate for 2013/14 of 89.2% which puts us at the very top of the league table of London General FE Colleges.
And if CONEL’s students decide that they don’t want to go to university, they can go straight into employment or start an apprenticeship - so coming to college is a good way of keeping your options open.”
