Our History
The Toyota and Lexus story is built on innovation, around both products and processes. In 1918, Sakichi Toyoda revolutionised the weaving industry when he invented the first automatic loom. The patent sale enabled his son Kiichiro to enter the automotive industry, producing their first prototype, Toyoda AA, by 1936. Guided by the Toyota Production System, the business continued to grow, launching Lexus in 1989. Today we are the world’s largest automotive company, known for reliability, innovation, and as a top employer.

Apprenticeships
Taking on an apprenticeship with a Toyota or Lexus retailer means you’ll be doing real work, learning from your experienced colleagues, and building your knowledge about everything required to deliver on our customers’ expectations. Whichever path you take, whether you are fixing cars, working in Sales or Aftersales, or gaining experience in a supporting function like marketing or HR, you’ll be taught what you need to ensure your career can accelerate.
