Tell us a bit about yourself!
I left school after completing my GCSEs in year 11 and decided to go to a chef college to learn to be a patisserie chef. I graduated after 3 years and became a qualified patisserie chef. I then worked in a bakery for 5 years.
Unfortunately, I then developed an allergy to flour which left me unable to continue with my career. I then began looking into marketing and found a new passion for it.
Why did you choose an apprenticeship?
I chose to do an apprenticeship as I thought it would be the ideal place to learn and gain valuable experience working with industry experts and gaining their wisdom whilst still being able to earn money.
What do you enjoy most about my apprenticeship?
Something I enjoy the most about my apprenticeship at WB Studios Leavesden is that there is always so much going on that I can get involved in. There is never a boring day here!
What has been your highlight so far?
It is hard to choose one thing to highlight as I have experienced so much in just 2 months! However, the best thing would probably have to be when I get the chance to see inside of the stages and the sets that productions are filming on.
What obstacles have you encountered and overcome?
An obstacle that I have encountered would be having to settle into a massive company and having to learn to adapt to different environments and work with different people and departments every day.
What advice would you give to people looking to do an apprenticeship?
Advice that I would give to someone looking to do an apprenticeship would be to be resilient and keep applying. It is such a competitive time for young people now but if you work hard and continue to learn and improve your skills it will all work out.
