City Year was recognised with aBigSocietyAward last week by the Prime Minister. The awards, which are were set up by the Prime Minister in 2010, acknowledge organisations which are making abigimpact in their communities through social action projects.
To celebrate, our corps members were invited to Downing Street for a photo outside No 10 and were presented with a plaque from the Prime Minister's team. Commenting on the award, the Prime Minister said:
“Not only does City Year help thousands of children to achieve their aspirations; it also helps the volunteers taking part to get on in their careers.
“I am delighted to award City Year with aBigSocietyAward in recognition of their achievement...”
