Apprentice Manufacturing Technician – Prototype Machine Shop
We are pleased to be recruiting a craft based Apprentice Manufacturing Technician to work in our Machine Shop and Additive Manufacturing Facility at our Luton site. You will be part of the busy Manufacturing Engineering Team, learning to work on prototype developments, jigs, and tooling to support new programs and existing production. We are looking for someone with a passion for developing high quality engineering skills and a keenness to learn.
What you’ll do as an Apprentice Manufacturing Technician:
As an Apprentice you will experience a mixture of ‘on the job’ training to develop your craft skills, working alongside highly skilled Engineers and further education organized by the company for ensure you have the best opportunities to progress your career.
In this varied role, you will learn to design and make articles in a variety of materials such as aircraft grade Aluminium, Steel and Engineering Plastics. You will learn to use a range of machine tools, both manual and CNC and become highly proficient in the use of CAD and CAD/CAM systems for design and manufacture on a range of cutting-edge processes.
What we need from you:
You must have as a minimum:
5 x GCSE grades 4 - 9 or grades A - C, or equivalent (e.g. Functional Skills Level 2), Mandatory: English & Maths or equivalent
You will be a fast learner.
You already have an interest in mechanical and electrical devices.
You like to be working with your hands.
You have good communication skills.
You enjoy solving technical problems.
It would be an advantage if you have Machining and CAD skills and have had practical workshop. experience.

The starting salary for this role is £17,000
