Here at Yunex Traffic we want to make mobility safer, more efficient, and more sustainable with forward-looking infrastructure and transport solutions. Yunex Traffic designs, markets, manufactures, installs, and maintains a wide portfolio of international traffic management products and is the UK market leader in the traffic signal business. This includes intersection and pedestrian traffic controllers, intelligent urban traffic control systems, variable message signs, public transport, and car park guidance systems to enhance road safety and improve traffic flow in congested urban and inter-urban areas.


The challenge

Part of being a #TrafficTransformer apprentice at Yunex Traffic means you get to work on real life projects whilst also being supported on a guided learning journey, and often experiencing different areas within the business.


Our apprentices get the opportunity to find their passion and in turn, we get their passion.  We’re always looking for apprentices who want to make a difference to the world we live in.


This will be a 4 year apprenticeship that gives the Apprentice an introduction to Yunex and specifically its Manufacturing environment.


During the first three and a half years the apprentice will have placements in all areas of Manufacturing, PCB, Controller, Systems, Goods In, Repair, Production Engineering, IT and Materials Support and a Logistics role within a cell, plus other parts of the business.  The final six months is spent specialising in a final department.

 Apprentices will undertake an Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Qualification and HNC (or similar) in electronic engineering.

There will be a high element of continuous improvement and various projects to enable the apprentice to gain various skills.

Minimum Educational Requirements

  • At least 5 GCSEs or equivalent at Grade 4 and above, including English and Maths
  • A relevant level 2 apprenticeship will also be considered

Recruitment Process

Applications for our apprenticeships will close between 28 Feb – 18 March 2024.


We will be holding in-person 'Getting to know You' days between mid February – early March 2024 which will allow candidates the best opportunity to showcase their potential and suitability for this role by using a variety of assessment types.  This session will be held in an afternoon or morning slot and will typically include a combination of tasks and activities such as group problem-solving tasks, individual interviews, presentations, and role simulation exercises. For some roles, there will also be an initial video (Microsoft Teams) or telephone interview - these are likely to be held during February 2024, before the Getting to Know You day. These interviews are typically competency based and a chance for us to find out what your motivations are for your next career.


Our Apprentices will join the business on 19th August 2024 so you must be available from this date.
