Level 8 Cyber Security Apprenticeship With NatWest

 

LTSB are in its 6th year of partnership with NatWest Group and are looking for young people who are passionate about Banking & Finance to join a range of apprenticeship opportunities in permanent roles with the bank in 2024.

Elevate Programme

We are offering places on our three-week interactive programme where you will receive employability training, interaction with NatWest Group staff and Q&A sessions, gain insight into the culture at NatWest Group and other employers, interview prep work and advice from previous LTSB students on their apprenticeships.

Programme start date: Monday 1st July

Successful completion of our programme guarantees you an interview with NatWest Group for a permanent role.

Starting Salaries: £23,940

LTSB will continue to support successful candidates until roles commence in October 2024, and then for the first year of your career.

On the apprenticeship you’ll study to gain a qualification while putting new skills to use in work, earning a competitive salary, and being supported professionally through the programme.

Job Description (the role you'll be doing)

·       The Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Central Monitoring Team (CMT) manages the Group’s email and internet access monitoring tools and follows up on alerts that are generated by these tools. This team is part of the wider Security department.

·       The team analyse DLP alerts generated by the tools and escalates them to the right people/ area for further investigation follow up.

·       Members of the team work together to assign and assess alerts so that the right people work in the appropriate timeframes to ensure that any data leak is plugged as soon as is possible.

·       They engage with all parts of the wider Group to understand what data is important to those areas and helps them to define rules to protect this data from accidental or malicious loss.

·       They work on the Group’s DLP tooling to make rules more effective and efficient through testing and refinement.

·       They support all part of the Group with enquiries related to Data Loss Prevention and associated topics.

Eligibility

We are looking for young people aged 16 – 24 who are passionate about building a career in Digital & Technology. You don’t need previous experience, but you do need to show evidence of a genuine interest in the role and the banking sector.

We work in areas where talent struggles to find opportunity, and so we are specifically looking for young people who were eligible for free school meals, or from areas of low educational attainment, or have faced personal disadvantage. To be eligible you must meet the following criteria:

  • 16-24 years old
  • Did not attend a fee-paying school
  • Received free school meals and/or require additional support to access careers
  • 5 GCSEs (Grade 4-9), or equivalent National 5 qualifications in Scotland (Grade A-C)
