Petroassist are part of Petrotec who are a nationwide sales, service and installation business, selling and maintaining a range of forecourt equipment including pumps, payment terminals, tank gauges and other ancillary equipment. Petroassist UK is also the approved Wayne distributor in the UK and Ireland.

They are currently looking for an IT Systems Administrator Apprentice to join their team based in Edinburgh. 

What’s involved?

  • Assist in providing first-line technical support to users, both in-person and remotely.
  • Help with the setup, configuration and deployment of IT equipment including PCs, laptops, printers and mobile devices.
  • Support software installations, updates and troubleshooting.
  • Log and track IT issues using the internal helpdesk system.
  • Learn to diagnose and resolve basic hardware and software problems.
  • Assist with user account setup, password resets, and access permissions.
  • Support the maintenance of IT asset records and inventories.
  • Learn about cybersecurity, data protection and IT best practices.
  • Shadow and work alongside experienced IT professional to develop core technical and customer service skills.

What do they need from you?

  • A genuine interest in IT and technology.
  • Basic knowledge of computers, operating systems and common applications.
  • Good problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn and take direction.
  • Ability to work well within a team.
  • Eligible and committed to completing an IT apprenticeship qualification.

Salary: £15,600 - £19,500 per annum.

Working hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8.30am – 4.30pm.

On completion, as well as the valuable work experience you have gained, you get a nationally recognised qualification at SCQF Level 6.
