IT Support Apprentice

 We are looking for a driven, flexible, and eager to learn apprentice to join our team and to support the global IT operations of the business. The apprentices' responsibilities will include learning and improving practical on the job skills, participating in scheduled online courses organised and provided by the training provider as well as potentially travelling abroad or within the UK to carry out IT related tasks for the business.

The business is fast paced and rapidly changing meaning we are looking to invest long term into our apprentices which means the potential of keeping them on as permanent staff as well as continually developing on their skills after their apprenticeship is complete.

Key Duties:

  • IT service desk framework – how it is used and how to prioritise requests.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills on Windows machines, Conference rooms – how it works and how to troubleshoot any potential issues.
  • Hardware provisioning and some laptop/PC building IT asset management, Licence management,
  • User on-boarding, setup, and walkthrough, Laptop and mobile phone procurement, troubleshooting, repairs, replacements, and SIM card provisioning. Printer installation, configuration, and troubleshooting (including cloud print solutions such as uniFLOW Online).
  • Telephony systems (cloud and physical), Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Basic TCP/IP networking, Firewalls / routers (WatchGuard or Dray Tek), Network switches, Wireless access points (WatchGuard), Azure AD, Ninja RMM
  • Sophos Endpoint Protection, Barracuda Email Security Service and Backups, Exclaimer Email Signatures, Autodesk Products, ArchiCAD
  • Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, Microsoft 365, Intune Mobile Device Management
  • Zoom Client and Zoom Rooms

Software you will use: UniFLOW Online, Apple Business Manager, DarkTrace cloud and antigena email, CCTV (Hikvision), Door entry systems.

Skills and Qualities:

  • Flexibility – the business is fast paced and as such you need to be flexible to deal with any sort of situation.
  • Excellent communication skills as well as listening skills.
  • Have a basic knowledge of IT and desirably some experience in some of the things listed above.
  • Maintain a personal interest and motivation in the rapidly changing technological field.
  • Good time management and organisation skills.
  • Be able to work as part of a team as well as individually on specific tasks and project work.
Entry Requirements:
  • 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)
  • Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship is in a similar subject
You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.
 
If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.

  • Hours: 9am – 5.30pm
  • On-site Monday – Friday (first 12 months), after 12 months, WFH Rota
  • Early finish Friday

Future Prospects: 

  • 90% of QA Apprentices secure permanent employment after finishing their apprenticeship.  Additionally, there may be opportunities to undertake further apprenticeship training as many of our programs offer on-going development tracks.
