Overview: 
We are looking to recruit a 1st Line Support Engineer Apprentice to join our busy team in Rotherham. 
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing telephone and remote 1st line support, and eventually to provide site-based installation of both hardware and software. 
Learning will be on the job.

Key Responsibilities: [will consist of:] 
Technical Support:

  • Provide technical support to both internal and external customers through various communication channels. 
  • Establish and diagnose ICT problems/faults using appropriate troubleshooting methodologies and tools. 

Communication and Customer Service:

  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, guiding them through steps to resolve issues or set up systems.
  • Prioritize IT issues in response to customer service level agreements.

Installation and Configuration:

  • Install and configure software and hardware, including mobile apps, printers, projectors, scanners, and cameras.
  • Support the roll-out of upgrades or new systems and applications.
  • Administer mobile devices on the network and configure network devices such as switches and routers.

Possession of a full UK driver’s license or commitment to pass the test within the year is advantageous.

Entry requirements:

  • 3 GCSE's (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)
  • Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship is in a similar subject

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.
