IT Apprentice

Responsibilities:

  • Support internal network infrastructure including switches, firewalls, routers, and wireless systems.
  • Monitor system performance, run diagnostics, and resolve connectivity issues.
  • Maintain security best practices across systems and on-prem environments.
  • Support users with IT-related queries, including software, VPNs, and remote access.
  • Help manage software subscriptions, user access, and data backups.
  • Document procedures, configurations, and changes to the infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with the IT team on projects and improvements to infrastructure.

  • Strong technical skills.
  • A methodical, step by step approach to resolving issues.
  • Proactive and able to balance competing priorities.
  • Effective communicator internally and externally.
  • Solutions focussed in how you think and act – you will always find a way.
  • Ability to adapt to complex and non-routine work in different environments.
  • The ability to work under direction, use discretion and determine when to escalate issues.
  • Able to travel – both within UK and to Vienna HQ/ Canada.
  • Allow for security vetting from government organisation.

Entry requirements:

  • 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)
  • Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship in a similar subject

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.

Working hours:

9am - 5.30pm with 1 hour lunch break.
