Infrastructure Specialist

Home based role Help strengthen our Teams as our Infrastructure Specialist. We currently have 3 roles in different projects. 1 focusing more on MS Active Directory, 1 on cyber security and other more in MS exchange/messaging. Home based / Fully remote role.

Capita are recruiting for 3 Infrastructure Specialists to carry out the design and implementation of computer systems (including the installation of a range of equipment, operating systems and applications), both on time and within budget. Emphasis is on taking ownership and technical responsibility of the implementation project, as well as maintaining and developing technical skills, product knowledge and customer interaction. 

To implement Customer installations against agreed solutions, working either on your own or as part of a Delivery Team under the management of a Project Manager. Be able to traverse between different areas of the business as and when required and adapt accordingly.

This role is based at home with a strong collaboration with teammates across MS Teams and virtual project meetings.

We are looking for candidates with a solid infrastructure background, familiarity with Microsoft technologies, proficiency in networking, server management, and security measures, along with outstanding communication and problem-solving abilities for all three positions.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Troubleshooting and resolving any technical issues that arise, as well as providing technical support to users.
• Maintaining and developing technical skills, product knowledge, and customer interaction.
• Maintaining an awareness of current and new products and technologies.
• Designing new solutions across transition and transformation projects in line with requirements.
• Liaising with other architects to ensure effective collaboration in the identification and development of new processes.

What we're looking for:

Ideally looking for all the below skills/experience but as we have 3 roles, we can consider candidates with a mix of the below skills:

• Experience with Active Directory Upgrades, Consolidation, and Remediation.
• Use of Quest Migration Tools.
• Upgrade/Migration from Exchange on-premise to Office 365.
• Cyber security experience and in-depth understanding of technology and a working knowledge of Cyber Security good practice. Experience with tools such as MS Sentinel
• Knowledge/experience of Office 365 (Exchange Online, Teams, OneDrive), Exchange On-Premise, and Active Directory Domain Services.
• Knowledge/Experience of Windows Server/Group Policy/DHCP/DNS/Cert Services, Windows 10/11 EUC, and Citrix XenApp
• Messaging

All 3 roles require the following:

• Strong infrastructure experience and technical subject matter expert.
• In-depth knowledge and understanding of multiple technologies including, but not limited to, the Microsoft technology stack.
• Demonstrable experience in contributing to the successful delivery of technical programmes of work through hands-on deployment, troubleshooting and contribution to designs.
• Demonstrates proficiency through experience and valid industry certifications.
• Investigation, analysis, and implementation of Microsoft security baselines.
• Ability to work on own initiative, but also work as part of a project team.
• Experience of working in an enterprise-size organization.
• Experience working in medium to long-term structured infrastructure projects.
• Demonstrable experience in delivering quality technical artefacts including High- and Low-Level Designs.
• Informed about the technology market and trends.
• Ability to communicate effectively at project/programme management levels of an organisation.
• Good knowledge of governance practices including change control.
• Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
• Motivation to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to gain SC clearance
