Looking to start a career in early years? Longscroft Chrildren's Nursery has been providing a creative and nurturing secure environment for children since 1991. Our aim is to provide a community filled with play, learning, and activities to enable every child to reach their full potential.

As an apprentice you will be a key member of the nursery team, your duties may include:

  • Planning and delivering fun and educational activities with the children
  • Play alongside and with children to support their play
  • Contribute to children’s records through observation
  • Assist with the supervision of children at rest times and at mealtimes
  • Contribute in creating a safe, happy environment for the children
  • Ensure the play area is clean and tidy at all times
  • Working alongside outside agencies in supporting the children

This position would suit a candidate with a bubbly, outgoing personality who is able to work on their own initiative and is prepared to commit to the work required for an apprenticeship.

Apprentice wage to start with 3 monthly salary increases after probation.

40 hours a week, either 8am-5pm or 9am – 6pm with 1 day a week training day for off the job hours.

Entry requirements

  • Good Maths- A-C (9-4) Grades in maths or equivalent is desired but not essential
  • Good English - A-C (9-4) Grades in English or equivalent is desired but not essential
  • Expierence in childcare or early years is desired but not essential

Training to be provided

As a work-based training provider, we will provide an exciting individually designed training programme covering:

  • Level 2 Early Years Practitioner Diploma
  • Level 2 Early Years Practitioner Apprenticeship Standard
  • Functional Skills in Maths and English (if required)
  • End-Point Assessment (EPA)
  • On and off the job training

We will aim to meet your needs and those of your employer, combining theory with hands-on practical experience to ensure you develop the skills, knowledge and behaviours that are relevant to your role.
