Our Warehouse Career Starter apprenticeship gives you a rare
insight into how our products get from our suppliers to our customers’ shopping
baskets. It’s a fascinating process, with lots going on, but you’ll be given
the theoretical knowledge and practical skills you need to take on this
rewarding challenge.

Our Warehouse Career Starter Apprenticeship is a brilliant way to kick-start your career.
You’ll learn about…
•
The tools, equipment, machinery and delivery
systems used for the handling of products
•
Loading procedures for products including
transport weight limits and loading distribution principles
•
How to select, prepare, and use packaging
materials to reduce waste
•
Information technology and digital systems –
such as digital toolsets and management information systems
•
How to conduct a risk assessment and apply safe
working practices
Plus so much more!
The programme typically takes around 15+ months to complete but may be shorter if you live in Wales or Scotland. Alongside your warehouse training, you’ll work towards achieving a Level 2 Supply Chain Warehouse Operative qualification (equivalent to 5 GCSE passes) and complete Functional Skills qualifications in English and Maths too, if you don’t have GCSE passes in these subjects already – amazing!
Criteria
To apply, you’ll need to meet the UK government’s
eligibility criteria before your apprenticeship starts. We may have some
additional requirements too, depending on the apprenticeship you apply for.

Must be aged 16+ years old
•
Must have been a UK/EU/EAA resident for the past
3+ years
•
You must not be an overseas national or subject
to employment restrictions
•
Must have left full-time education
• Must not have completed a similar qualification at the same level or above

• Training & Support: You’ll have monthly meetings with your allocated learning coach during work time – sessions are usually a mix of face-to-face and online.
Application Process
•
Online application: This is your chance to
shine! Make sure you answer all the questions and provide as much information
as possible. Once you’ve submitted your application, our recruitment team will
review your answers. If you’re successful at this stage, you’ll progress to the
next stage of the process.
•
Individual or group assessment: You’ll complete
an assessment or interview at your local Regional Distribution Centre. You’ll
be asked some questions about yourself and the role you’re applying for – some
of which might be based on a scenario. If you’re successful at this stage,
you’ll progress to the final stage of the process.
• Aldi store experience: Following a successful interview, you’ll be invited to spend some time in the warehouse so you can see first-hand the types of tasks you’d be expected to complete. Feel free to ask any questions you might have as we want to make sure the role is the right fit for you and us. If everything goes well, you’ll be offered a job as an apprentice!
