From regulating
Consumer Credit to driving action on Foreign Exchange manipulation or helping
strengthen accountability in the banking sector, the FCA is working with the
industry to protect consumers, ensure the integrity of the UK financial system
and promote fair and effective competition. Our remit has expanded
significantly since our creation in 2013, with the number of firms we regulate
growing from 23,000 to over 50,000. We oversee conduct across the full span of
the financial sector from global investment banks to high street payday
lenders. We do this by working with consumer groups,
trade associations and professional bodies, domestic regulators, international
partners, and a wide range of other stakeholders.
About the
Role:
The postholder
will have the opportunity to work on a range of exciting projects, which help
to build trust in our financial markets, and make a positive impact to the
lives of vulnerable consumers. Our data-focussed initiatives are introducing
machine learning and powerful search capabilities to optimise our use of data,
so that we can more proactively address potential consumer harm. Our regulatory
projects operationalise new financial policy through new systems and process,
enabling the UK financial industry to meet its legal obligations and improving
outcomes for consumers and markets.
The Business
Analyst apprenticeship focuses on documenting business problems, modelling
processes, creating solution requirements, managing relationships, and honing
professional skills. You will gain hands-on experience and support to develop
behaviour, attitudes, and skills for success in a dynamic environment.
We will be
hiring Business Analysts into our Change Directorate.
The key
responsibilities of the role will include:

Assist with the gathering of requirements
through elicitation, validation, prioritisation and documentation of high level
and detailed system requirements, both functional and non-functional, using
appropriate documentation and modelling techniques;

Assist with business process workshops for
understanding the client business environment and that analyse, develop and
document end-to-end business processes and document product definitions,
stakeholder needs, product features, and corresponding functional
specifications;
·
Assist with mapping requirements with existing
functionality and identify gaps that require additional configuration or
customisation;
·
Communicate requirements and other business
analysis findings to internal and external team stakeholders.
·
Develop increasing knowledge and skills around
business analysis and customer journey mapping
Skills
required:
Knowledge of
Microsoft Office Packages - particularly Word, Outlook, Access Excel and
PowerPoint

Minimum
qualifications required (e.g. GCSEs/A-Levels): Minimum of 2 A Levels or
equivalent at grade 4 (C) – including one numerical subject e.g. Maths,
Economics, Finance. In addition to 5 GCSEs at grade 4 (C) including Maths and
English or equivalent qualifications.
