The Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) Daresbury Laboratory Estates Department is responsible for the development of the campus housing science and technology facilities, workshops and laboratories.
Estates Services offer wide ranging support; from the provision of suitable buildings, workplaces and information and communications technology connectivity, through to an exceptionally wide range of business and staff support services, including developing our staff and ensuring their safety at all times.
About The Role
Estates Services in-house maintenance team has created an exciting opportunity for a Level 3 Service and Maintenance Engineer Apprentice. Within this role, the apprentice will be required to work as part of a team to deliver efficient, effective and sustainable statutory maintenance service along with providing a reactive and minor works service across the Daresbury Laboratory Estate.
Learning
The apprentice will undertake professional development and training which includes in-person teaching at Salford City College completing the Level 3 Building Services Engineering Service and Maintenance Engineer Apprenticeship.
In your final year, you will undertake an End Point Assessment. The End Point Assessment will include a multiple-choice test, observation and discussion about your portfolio of evidence which demonstrates the skills, knowledge and behaviours of the apprenticeship.

1. To complete the apprenticeship, you will need to evidence passes at 9-4 or A*-C in GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English. For those sitting their GSCEs in Summer 2025, we would need evidence of your predicted grades.
