Application Architect - Progress OpenEdge

Capita Technology Software Solutions: Seeking Application Architects with Progress OpenEdge experience.

Capita Technology Software Solutions is on the lookout for Application Architects with Progress OpenEdge Experience to join our Pensions Development team. This pivotal role involves providing technical guidance to project teams, ensuring the integrity and efficiency of our software solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as a senior technical leader within the assigned product area and development team.
• Provide low to medium level design guidance, translating high-level designs into detailed technical specifications.
• Apply rigorous design governance across all projects, maintaining technical excellence.
• Collaborate with Solution Architects for high-level design direction and ensure alignment with technical strategy.
• Integrate design tasks into project plans, working closely with stakeholders across the Pensions business.
• Bridge the gap between high-level design and hands-on development, fostering a collaborative environment.
• Manage technical risks and issues, ensuring the technical integrity of the product area.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes within the Development Department.
• Lead and influence stakeholders to achieve strategic technical goals.

Person Specification:

• It is essential that you are eligible for SC clearance
• Extensive experience in application architecture, with a solid grasp of architectural principles and frameworks.
• Deep knowledge of Progress OpenEdge is essential.
• A track record of designing and implementing solutions in large-scale software projects.
• A background in software development with a systematic and analytical approach to problem-solving.
• Knowledge of the Pensions domain is highly desirable but not essential
• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to influence and lead effectively.
• A commitment to continuous learning and alignment with Capita's core values.
