Level 4 Actuarial Technician Apprenticeship Programme

Location: Reigate

Closing Date: 31st May 2024

Start date 2nd September 2024

The Role

Are you looking for a role where you can make immediate impact, delivering exceptional service to our clients in financial consulting services? As an Actuarial Technician apprentice, you will be developing valuable skills from day one, while also working towards the Level 4 Actuarial Technician Apprenticeship qualification.

You’ll be working alongside analysts and consultants helping to produce calculations and provide advice to our clients. The Actuarial Technician is a consulting support role where you will work as part of a team on a wide variety of complex projects as a subject matter expert for our many client teams.

You will be part of a local apprentice team but also included in a wider growing group of apprentices in other offices and disciplines. Your manager and assigned mentor will be on hand at all times to fully guide you through your programme – making adjustments as necessary to ensure you achieve your full potential.

In this role it is necessary to build both a strong technical skillset and the ability to communicate with different team members and external parties. In an industry driven by legislation, no two days are the same. Our apprentices will experience this work variety immediately and see this continue as their careers develop, with opportunities to focus in specialised areas.

You will get to work with numerous pieces of software which we use to provide solutions to our clients and these are also widely adopted within our client base.

Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, you will have the opportunity to continue to progress within the Retirement team, developing broader technical skills and knowledge of actuarial techniques supported by our extensive in-house training resources and tailored programmes.

Training & Qualifications

This apprenticeship is a 24-36 month programme where you will be provided on the job training and a highly competitive study support package. You will be fully supported by WTW and our official government approved training provider throughout the duration of the programme.

  • 3 A-levels or equivalent qualifications including a minimum of grade B in Maths
  • High level of numeracy
  • Self-discipline, determination and appreciation of the demands of studying while working
