I think Tilbury Douglas’s key value of taking pride in the work that you produce is one that resonates with me deeply. I am someone who always strives for the best result and wants to make sure that my complete effort is given to every single project and task that I undertake, so I feel as though I’ll be working with people who understand my way of thinking here at Tilbury Douglas.
What was most important to you about the company you work for?
The most important thing is to be surrounded by professional, hardworking, ambitious people who you can learn and grow with in your career, and individually as a person.
What three things are you most looking forward to in your new role?
Firstly, getting to know as many people as possible throughout the company from a range of different sectors and getting to establish fantastic working relationships. Secondly, I am really looking forward to starting my first project and getting on with my hands-on duties. Lastly, I’m looking forward to learning as much as possible about the job and the industry through the fantastic team here, and improving my skills and knowledge as much as possible.
What skills are important for your role?
Communication, problem-solving, logical thinking, organisation and excellent teamwork skills. Those would be amongst the most important for this role.
Why choose a Civil Engineering apprenticeship?
I chose a Civil Engineering apprenticeship because it allows me to work on a broad range and different types of projects, so each day is different. Furthermore, to be part of building the infrastructural future around us, provides me with a lot of purpose in my work, which further motivates me to achieve the best results.
