Emma reveals why she chose the scheme: “After looking at many different apprenticeship schemes, Network Rail had so much more to offer than others. The facilities are brilliant and the instructors are passionate about what they teach us.”

Emma reveals what’s the best thing about the apprenticeship scheme: “It has to be meeting new people and practical learning. It has been great learning a discipline which is completely new to me whilst acquiring nationally recognised qualifications.”

Iain Coucher, Network Rail chief executive said of the scheme: “Network Rail’s apprenticeship scheme offers hundreds of young people the chance to learn and develop skills for a career that looks after 3 million people a day and is vital to the economy and prosperity of our country. We believe in investing in our people. A bigger and better railway needs the very best in skills to succeed. By investing in the future of hundreds of young men and women, we invest in our own future too.”
