From Test Tubes To Trust Funds: Inspire Financial’s Fas Student
10 years ago

The 21-year-old Biology graduate from Derby had intended to secure a graduate-level medical course after his studies ended, but he gradually veered away from the scrubs as he “started to see my life heading in a different direction.”

Mr McKiernan said he had begun to consider a career as a financial adviser, as this seemed to match his “head for numbers” with his people skills, and was introduced to Brian Harrison, joint principal of Leicestershire-based advisory firm Inspire Financial Solutions.

Mr McKiernan said: “He told me what the role would entail and what I would need to become qualified.

“I became more interested in pursuing this and approached Sesame Bankhall Group’s Financial Adviser School to learn more about the training and it soon became apparent that this would be the perfect option for me.

“I am looking forward to using my training, skills and expertise to help others have a better financial future”.

Background

Last year, Inspire Financial Solutions announced it had embarked on the next stage of its growth plans by taking on graduates. Stephen Highton, joint principal, said RDR had put the firm’s growth plans on hold, but it was “keen to start identifying how to attract our own new generation of advisers.”
