Construction Apprenticeships - Sector In The Spotlight
10 years ago

Four former and current apprentices from across the construction sector talk about how an Apprenticeship has benefited them.

The apprentices also talk about the breadth of skills they developed during their Apprenticeship and the importance of the sector to the economy.

Employers, led by CITB, the Industry Training Board and Sector Skills Council for the construction sector, are being encouraged to promote the film across the sector and to young people. The film will also be used by the National Apprenticeship Service in resource packs for schools and at careers events up and down the country.

The stars of the film are:

- Danielle Newitt (19), who completed an Advanced Apprenticeship in Surveying at Costain in London and is now a Quantity Surveyor at the company.

- Scott Gregory (23), who completed an Intermediate Apprenticeship in Plumbing and Heating with Century Plumbing in Lincoln and is now a plumber at the company.

- Zak Johnson (19), who is specialising in carpentry as part of his Intermediate Construction Building Apprentice with BE Ames in Romney Marsh, Kent.

- Regina Tumblepot (26), who is an advanced apprentice working for Morgan Sindall on the BBMV joint venture on Crossrail's Whitechapel and Liverpool Street Station Tunnels project, and was also named Crossrail Apprentice of the Year.
