Charlie Mccarthy, Chartered Management Degree Apprentice, And Graduated Level 3 Apprentice
7 years ago

“A-levels aren’t for everyone and once I had found out that they weren’t for me I knew I would enjoy and thrive more in an Apprenticeship. I knew of Unilever before and when I found out they had an apprenticeship programme I jumped at the opportunity.

I love seeing that the work I do is valued and has an actual impact of the business.

The most valuable piece of advice I’ve been given is that a great work attitude and enthusiasm is noticed just as much as good work.

Having never worked in business, I was unsure of what to expect. Looking back over my time here, I can say that I have been blown away with the amount of responsibility and support the apprentices get.

Apprenticeships have changed and business attitudes have changed so that experience is just as important as good qualifications. Go for it, you won’t regret it!

This opportunity has kick-started my career in ways I could never have imagined! I have started a level 6 Chartered Manager Degree apprenticeship with Unilever and am looking forward to where that takes me next!”
